Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer

About a month ago I have read that Soap&Glory is expanding their range to make up. I am a big fan of their skin and body care products so were really looking forward to see if make up products are just as good.
I have bought only one item so far and that is Kick Ass Concealer. I have been using it for about two weeks now and I am ready to give you my opinion on it :)

Everyone can agree that vintage looking packaging is very cute. I think that is what brings our attention to the brand in the first place. But apart from looking good this pot is really well made. It feels sturdy, it has a mirror inside and comes with a little sponge.

Inside you can find 3 step camouflage kit which explanation on how to use it. Step 1 is a salmon colored under eye concealer (2.96g). Step 2 is a yellow face (blemishes, redness) concealer (2.96g). Step 3 is a sealing powder (2.5g). Powder and the sponge are separate from concealers which is something you can find mostly in high end products.

Both concealers are very creamy and easy to blend. I haven't got under eye circles (just a little discoloration) and brightening side worked fine for me. It covered everything it needed to cover. I do have to say thou that it didn't properly set into my skin. I found it stayed on top of the skin which made it look a bit cakey. I am not sure how it would handle dark under eye circles.
Yellow based face concealer however did a great job. I have got a lot of redness on my skin (spot scars, broken capillaries, red patches) and Kick Ass managed to cover it all. It worked on small as well as bigger areas such as cheeks. Very good coverage and it sets well onto the skin.
Translucent powder has a very light and smooth formula. I doesn't feel heavy at all.
This concealer survived on my skin for about 12h! Very impressive.

Nothing on the face
Foundation all over the face and Kick Ass Concealer under the eyes and on the face
Kick Ass comes in shades Light and Medium so not much choice. I suppose they're just trying to see if it sells and hopefully will add darker shades.

I paid £10 in boots which I think is a reasonable price for the quality and amount you're getting.
I have seen it being compared to Laura Mercier undercover pot which I unfortunately don't own but very curious how therese two comapre (considering the price).

Hope my review was helpful guys! Let me know if I've missed something out!

Essie Luxe Effects A Cut Above

Sparkly nails again! I ordered this super pretty Essie polish on ebay about a week ago and honesty didn't expect it to arrive before Christmas. But it has and it's perfect for this party season!

I applied one layer of Avon "Rave" (glitter) and on top of that one layer of Essie "A Cut Above". These two polishes are very similar color. They're both "pinky minkish dusty red" shade that I clearly have trouble describing :)
Avon Rave is not a full on glitter polish. By this I mean that it doesn't have chunky glitter bits but finley milled shiny particles. It's opaque coverage.
Essie A Cut Above is a basically clear polish with different size round shiny bits in it. I think probably two or three coats would cover the whole nail with shiny circles. There is a lot of them in there and what's important a lot stay on the nail. What I found is that they are easily spreadable on the nail. With some polishes second swipe takes the glittery bits away but this didn't happen here. They don't feel rough on the nail either.

Have you tried any of the polishes from Luxe Effects Collection?

Presents!

Hi everybody!

I hope you're all having a lovely Christmas. I am really lucky this year and don't have to come back to work till Thursday :) So far I have ate way too much and been way to lazy :) But that's what Christmas is all about so hey ho!
I wanted to show you what I found under the tree this year. It was also my birthday on 23rd so it's a joint haul.
Just to let you all know I am not trying to show of at all. I'm just really happy with what I received and I feel really lucky. I guess I have been a good girl this year :)

Blue thing is a snuggie :D I love it :)

I'm really curious what you guys got from santa! Share it with me in the comments below!

Lulu's Time Bomb FlashBack Night Cream

I received this face cream in my November Carmine beauty box. It is meant to do wonders to your skin during the night thanks to rich formula packed with vitamins and botanicals. You wake up looking fresh and well rested.
Sadly it's magic didn't work for me. It felt lovely when putting on my skin before going to bed. Formula is very light, absorbs well and leaves skin feeling smooth and soft. But when I woke up in the morning my skin instead of looking super fresh looked tired, drained and felt rough.
I think this cream is probably really good but it's just not for my skin type. Plus now that I've looked at the packaging properly it is aimed at more mature skin.
So I can't really say this is a proper review of this product but I did want to let you guys know what I thought.

Dainty Doll vs. Mac Emerald Eyeliner

In last month Carmine beauty box I received Dainty Doll eyeliner pencil in number 004. Dainty Doll is a brand created by Girls Aloud's singer Nicola Roberts. Nicola has an English Rose pale porcelain complexion and that's the type of skin her cosmetics are designer for. Pencil I got is in a beautiful emerald shade. Since I do already own similar colored eye kohl Minted from Mac I decided to do a comparison of them two.

There is one main difference between those pencils and it affects their application and wearibility. It is consistency.

Mac (£13)is a kohl so very soft and it glides on very easily on the lid. It doesn't drag and creates even line. One or two swipes are enough to have an intense colour. It also applies lovely on the water line. Very easy to smudge and create softer look. But there is a bad side to its softness. This pencil is not one of these non-moveable eyeliners. It smudges. Especially when the weather is warm and skin gets more oily. I got about 6h of wear out of it and after that it started to smudge like crazy. I recommend using a good setting powder under the eyeliner to stop the smearing a little bit. I have been using Minted during the summer as it is gorgeous bright colour. My favorite way to wear it is on the lower lash line and water line with bare lid and lots of mascara.

Dainty Doll (£10.20) is being stated as soft kohl on the
website but this pencil is hard in consistency. It was a little difficult for me to apply it. It dragged my skin and didn't seem to soften up after warming up. I had to apply several coats to create a visible emerald effect. Because it's so hard it didn't show up on the waterline either. It states on the packaging that it can be smudged to create smoky look but I don't agree.
It's not soft enough to smudge. But thanks to not
being soft this eyeliner didn't move anywhere and
stayed on my eyelid for about 12h. I found a good
use for it as a little add on to a simple look. I used it on my bottom lid to add a pop of colour to a day time smoky look.

One swipe. Left- Dainty doll. Right - Mac.
Several swipes. Left- Dainty doll. Right - Mac.

You can see on the picture Minted is a shade darker than Dainty Doll but they are nearly enough the same colour.
All in all I would choose Mac's Minted. The reason for that is I really don't like hard liner pencils. I feel like there is too much pain and effort trying to paint a line and results aren't that great. They drag delicate skin on the eyelid and cannot be smudged.
I will continue to use Dainty doll but won't repurchase and will stay true to Mac in this case :)|

OOTD Christmas lunch

Hi guys!

Today at work we had a Christmas lunch and Secret Santa. There was so much amazing food! Everybody made something and brought it with them. I stuffed my face crazy and didn't have to eat anything till the end of the day. It was a great effort.
I just wanted to share with you guys my outfit and make up look for today. I didn't have much time to do the make up this morning simply because I got up a little bit late so it's not fully as I would like it to look like. But I think it's not bad considering it was done in 10 minutes :)  Hope you like it :)

My Secret Santa gift. Smells gorgeous! I love coconut.

I wish I could say TGIF! But I am at work every Saturday so for me it will be TGIS tomorrow. Have a great weekend for those of you that are lucky enough to have it off!
