FOTD + Stila Convertible Color review

Have you all had an awesome weekend? I hope you did! Mine was really nice. It was lovely to have a Saturday off (I always work :( ) and see my girlfriends for a coffee during the day. After that, me and the boy went to a BBQ at our friends house. Yes, it was raining, but they have an awning type thing so we sat in the conservatory while the sausages were bbqing themselves away…

Here is how I did my makeup that day. It’s very simple and super easy to achieve. I will be definitely wearing it to work as it only takes 15 minutes and minimal amount of products to do. Everything looks a bit more intense in really life, unfortunately camera flash takes away from the colours intensity.

I blended Naked (3rd from left) into the crease and little bit above and topped it up with Buck (5th from left) for more definition. I applied Virgin (1st from left) all over the upper lid. I liner my outer upper lash line with Zero (black pencil) and blended it in with angled brush to the inner corner. That way black lost little bit of its intensity and didn’t look harsh.

I applied Stila Convertible Color in Gerbera on my cheeks and lips. It’s a lovely peachy pink shade that would suit light to medium skin tones. When I first opened, I felt disappointed as the colour looks dusty rose so nothing what I was expecting. Fortunately this is only top layer and once I dipped my finger in it, it reveals that lovely peachy shade.
Packaging is cute, light weight and has a mirror inside. Product itself doesn’t have a fragrance.
Formula is quite thick but fairly easy to blend. I apply it on my cheeks with my fingers and then blend it out with small stippling brush. No need for a highlight with this one! It gives off lovely, satin sheen. For lips I use just my fingers. It looks matte on them and it does emphasize dry patches on the lips so make sure to exfoliate beforehand.
Lasting power is really good. It stayed on my cheek for a whole day. Can’t really say about lips cause I constantly drink water so it rubs off quicker than normal.
I mentioned this product few times on Twitter and Instagram and haven’t changed my opinion since then. I love it!

You can see the colour of Stila little bit better in the above pictures. These are from a different day when I didn’t have any eye makeup on so I packed more Gerbera on the cheeks and lips :)

I got my Stila from here.

Rest of the products (not shown):
*Revlon Color Stay foundation all over my face
*Mac Studio Finish Concealer for blemishes
*Garnier Roll-On under the eyes
*Max Factor eyebrow pencil
*MUA clear mascara as brow gel
*Mac Painterly Paint Pot as eye primer
* Max Factor False Lash effect mascara

My Basic Make up Routine

You know these mornings when you're just about to do your make up and realize that creativity is still asleep and you just cannot be bothered to faff about with an eye shadow, eyeliner & all that jazz?

Well… I know these mornings very well! When I work early morning shift I have to get up at 4.30 am and that isn’t the time anyone should be asked to get up, leave alone put nice make up on!
On those days I would rather stay in bed 10 more minutes than do nice eye makeup (I love make up but I love sleep more).

Here is what I do to make myself look half decent in 10 to 15 minutes (initially it took me about 20 minutes but I did work on that speed ;) ). I do switch products up but I mostly rely on these in the below picture. When I don’t have much time I need to know things will be easy to apply and everything will look good together.

1) Foundation – get the base right and everything else will look right! I am focusing my time on blending the foundation well so it looks flawless and as natural as possible. I’m using mixture of Mac Studio Sculpt and Clarins Tinted Moisturizer at the moment but I switch my foundations up all the time.

2) Concealer
– I use brightening one (Catrice Re-Touch Light Reflecting Concealer) for under the eyes to make me look more awake. For red patches and spots on the face I use yellow based concealer (Mac Studio Finish).

3) Powder
– I do tend to get shiny throughout the day so I powder everything with translucent loose powder to prolong the staying power of foundation (NYC Smooth Skin Loose Powder).

4) Eyebrows
– I have done a post on how I do my eyebrows so click here if you’re curious. I use Max factor pencil and Elf Eyeborw Kit.

5) Bronzer
– matte bronzer for contouring (Rimmel Sun Shimmer) and shimmery one ( Elf Warm Bronzer) for all over the face for a bit of a glow. I only use shimmery bronzer in the winter because in the summer sunshine picks up all the shiny particles and makes me look too much like a disco ball.

6) Cheeks
– I layer two blushes for that bright, awake looking face. I use The Balm Frat Boy on the whole cheek and Mac Hang Loose for the top and apple of my cheeks. Hang Loose has that beautiful sheen and it acts like a highlighter for me.

7) Eyes
– I curl the lashes and apply mascara. I really like this thickening 2000 Calorie by Max Factor.

8) Lips
– I use something to match my blusher and in this case it’s Sleek Pout Paint in Minx and Sleek Pout Polish in Bare Minimum.

And here's everything on my silly face...

Ps. Mac Hang Loose was part of a collection but I have seen it on Cheap Smells! It really is a gorgeous blush.

Movie date Outfit and Make up

Hello my beauties!

Me and my boyfriend went to the cinema today to see "Girl with the dragon tattoo". I really enjoyed the movie and that often doesn't happen if I read the book first. Normally I compare it too much and end up being frustrated that a lot have been missed out. My boyfriend didn't enjoy it as much though. I think for someone who didn't read the book there was not enough tension build up. Things were happening really fast one after another. There was no mystery factor as in the book.
I have waved my hair with GHD's for the first time and I am quite happy with the result. I do have to practice a bit more but it's fairly easy.
Anyhoo... This is what I wore :)

Too Faced Natural Eye Palette - Party look

Hi everyone!

Today I wanted to show you last make up look I came up with using Too Faced Natural Eye palette. It's a sparkly, metallic look. I think it will be great for coming up Christmas parties! It would also look great in the Summer for a beach party when your skin is tanned.
I just wanted to say that unfortunatelly pictures don't really show how pretty this eye make up is. It's way more shiny and metallicy than on the picture. Try it out using my instructions below and you will see for yourself :)

Face:
  • Mac Studio Fix Foundation applied with Maestro 140 brush
  • Mac Select cover up concealer under the eyes
  • Benefit's Stick it concealer (around the nose, blemishes)
  • NYC Translucent powder all over with Inglot 24 SS brush
  • Avon Blush in Russet with angled brush
  • Revlon Pink Crystals lip gloss on the lips
Eyes:
  • Urban Decay Primer Potion on the entire lid
  • I sprayed a littler bit of Mac's Fix+ (you can use water too) into a Honey Pot and using flat synthetic brush (Sigma SS194) applied the wet mixture on my moving part of the lid, into the crease and on the lower lash line. Just be careful not to make it too liquidy.
  • Using Inglot 10S brush I pressed Cocoa Puff onto the outer corner of my upper lid and using a pencil brush into the outer part of my lower lid
  • I have blended all the edges with Sigma Blending brush E25
  • Heaven is used as a brow highlight and Nude Beach as a inner corner highlight
  • I used Cocoa Puff as an eyeliner by pressing it with Inglot 17TL brush onto my upper and lower lashes
  • Lashes - one coat of Max Factor False lash Effect mascara and second coat of Lancome Hypnose drama (that one is too wet in my opinion and only works then used as a second coat to add extra drama to the lashes)
  • Max Facto pencil on the eyebrows.

If you want to create extra dramatic effect add some false lashes and it will look even more gorgeous. Remember to keep the cheeks and lips simple so that focus stays on the eyes.

Hope you like this look! Let me know if you've tried it!

Too Faced Natural Eye - Day look

Simple and pretty. This is one of those anywhere/anytime make up looks. You can achieve this within 10 minutes and it looks great! It's perfect for everyday office look or one of those "I can't be bothered to put make up on but need to look nice" days :) I honestly didn't think such simple thing can look so pretty! Another great thing about this make up is that it can be so easily transformed into a night look. Just add black cat eyeliner, red lipstick and you're done! My hair is done messy way with donut so it didn't take much time either. I think hair do is suitable for both day and night and you can accessorize it accordingly.

Step by step:

  • I applied Clinique Superfit foundation with Sigma F05 brush all over my face
  • Redness concealed with Stick it by Benefit and under eyes with Garnier Roll-on
  • I added little bit of No7 Skin Illuminator on top of my cheek bones and bridge of my nose
  • I lightly dusted NYC Transparent face powder on my T zone with Inglot 24SS brush
  • Sleek Suede (from Nude collection) blush went on the cheeks using Angled brush
  • ELF warm bronzer all over the face, neck and decolletage
  • Urban decay primer Potion all over the lid
  • I dusted Heaven all over the lid up to the brow bone with flat soft brush
  • I created a line in my crease with ELF contour brush using Velvet Revolver and blended with fluffy brush.
  • I traced just created crease line with Sexpresso to add depth and again blended with fluffy brush
  • I added little bit of sheen under the brow and around the tear duct by dusting Silk Teddy on there. Remember to do it with a very light touch as this shade is very shimmery and you don't want to over do it.
  • Using small angled brush I pushed Sexpresso into my upper lash line and winged it out connecting it with crease colour
  • I filled in my eyebrows with Max factor pencil.
  • Avon Super Shock Mascara on the lashes. It seperates the lashes vell and makes them look very natural
  • On my lips I wear Catrice Ultimate Colour lipstick in 010 be natural and MUA lip gloss shade 3 on top

Hope you like this look and let me know if you've tried it!

Dose of randomness:
  • I love Asda Groceries home delivery service! You never know what you'll get :) Like 2 days ago when we thought we'll be getting normal sized pizza and it turned out we've ordered massive, hardly fitting into the fridge one :) You'd think it will last us two days.... we've been piggies and ate it in one day!
  • Winter is here! First morning frost on the car on Friday.
  • I have got 3 Christmass presents sorted :)
  • I can't wait to dress my Christmass Tree! I will be picking a real one this week! Whoop whoop
  • One of my face creams fell into the toilet this morning! I am not throwing it away! But just to be clear... it had tight lid on and it was ONLY water in the toilet...

Too Faced Natural Eye - Evening look

I am starting my Natural Eye series with evening look. It's stylish and elegant and will look great with many outfits. You could wear this for a date, a meal or to a show. Eyes are defined but not too dramatic and pretty pink lips and cheeks compliment the whole look. If you're like me and "not afraid" of make up you could easily pull this off during the day too.
If you'd like to find out how I achieved this look then keep reading :)

I started with the face
  •  I applied Revlon ColorStay foundation all over my face. After that setting I added little bit more on my redness (face, chin). I used Sigma Foundation brush.
  •  Mac Select Cover Up concealer under the eyes and It Stick by Benefit on spots.
  • NYC Smooth Skin Translucent Powder all over the face with Inglot 24SS brush
  • I countoured my face using Maestro 155 brush with ELF bronzing powder.
  • Using ELF duo again I applied blusher with angled brush.
  •  On my lips is ELF mineral lipstick in Runway Pink

In the picture you see revlon foundation in a different bottle. That is beacause I have mixed two shades to create my perfect match :) Plus this old bottle has a pump which ColorStay lacks.
Now onto the eyes:
  • With my finger I blended Primer Potion all over my lid (not in pic.)
  •  On the moving part of my lid I applied Illamasqua Cream Pigment in Delirium to add more depth to the eyeshadow
  •  With flat shader brush (sigma SS239) and pressed Push-Up on top of Delirium
  •  Using ELF countour brush I applied Erorica into the crease and blended it with fluffy brush (Sigma SS217). I have done this a few times applying little at the time and blending.
  •  Silk Teddy went around the tear duct layered on top of Benefit's Eye bright
  •  Heaven used an eyebrow highlight
  •  I lined my upper lashliner with Catrice Gel liner in deep purple colour called It's Mambo Nr.2 :) I also used it on my bottom waterline. I used Sigma SS209 Liner brush for both.
  •  Using angled brush I lined my lower lash line with Push-Up and Erotica in teh same order as the top lid.
  •  Max factor False Lash Effect on top and bottom lashes
  •  I used Duo top put false lashes on. Or rather half of them. They add subtle definision to the eye and it's so much easier to apply them that way! (glue not in the picture)
  •  Max factor eyebrow pencil on brows

Just wanted to let you know that Sigma is using different names for their brushes now :( I am going to have a look for corresponding names to my brushes and will use current ones next time. Hope that's ok with you guys.

I hope you like the look! I really do.
Day time and Party looks using Natural Eye palette will be coming soon!
