Sunday Treat Corner

I’m guessing most of us dedicates their winter Sundays for lazy and cozy behavior with an occasional beauty treatment? Well I definitely do! Apart from reading a book, watching crap tv and getting on top of my washing (it’s a Sunday job :D) I give my skin and nails a little pick me up.

On my skin I apply cleansing and nourishing face mask to bring it back to life after a week of wearing makeup and dealing with indoor heating and outdoor cold. I’ve recently purchased Organic Surge First Class Mask which nourishes, deep-cleanses and rehydrates the skin. What more would I want? That’s like three main problems tackled with one pump of creamy goodness. I’ve used it only once so far but liking it very much. I will do a proper review once I have more thoughts.
While the face mask is on I soak couple of cotton pads with Liz Earle Eyebright and place them on my eyes. This soothing eye lotion is truly amazing. Scent itself is very relaxing but most importantly it cools and calms my eyelids and delicate skin around the eyes which gets very puffy and tired looking by the end of the week.
After around 10 minutes of relaxation with both of these on I wash it all off and apply tiny bit of Balance Me Radiance Face Oil to nourish the skin ready for the new week. I don’t use oils like that on daily basis as my skin is quite oily and I find them too heavy. But it works a treat as an extra boost once a week.

I file my nails with Crystal File by OPI. It’s quite a high price tag for a nail file but believe me it is worth it. I had one of those crystal files (can’t remember what brand) for about 5 years and it would still go strong if I didn’t drop it on the floor and then stepped on it :/ After that I kept buying these cheapo glass files but the filing bit kept coming off after few uses which was seriously getting on my nerves. I decided to invest in another good quality file and OPI has been brilliant so far.
I moisturize my cuticles with Nuxe Dry Oil which stops them looking dry. I don’t cut my cuticles out anymore but push them in from time to time but I don’t even do that very often. I found that moisturizing them regularly and not applying any varnish on them makes them look nice and neat. Finally I apply clear polish or conditioner (using Trind Nail Repair at the mo) and voila! Sometimes I’d paint them with a coloured polish but I’ve been very lazy lately and avoiding it like fire.

Loving Yankee Warm Spice at the moment! It’s very comforting and warming but not overwhelming or sickening fragrance.
Tissue holder you can see in the background has been made by my mum, she is so talented!

I would love to hear what your Sunday beauty routines are!

London baby!

Just wanted to share few pictures I took when in London. It was just a day trip to go around museums.

It takes a long longer than one would thought to see everything, so we (me + friend Louise) only managed to go Tate Modern and Natural History Museum.

It was an awesome day at a little cost. We had packed lunches (tuna wraps by Louise :D) so only had to pay for the train ticket and off course we stopped to get hot cup of caramel latte :)

Essence Colour & Go Do You Speak Love?

The one nail polish colour to lift up the mood? For me it’s definitely red!

I have picked up a few Essence nail polishes when I went Poland back in October. They are cheap, have good colour selection and formula is more high end then anyone could expect.

Do you speak love? is a deep vampy red I mostly like to wear in autumn and winter. It looks very sophisticated on the nails and it makes me feel that little bit better when looking at them :).

Only downside – chipped quite quickly even with my usual Seche Vite top coat. Only lasted about 3 days before chunks started to come off. It’s a shame really because I didn’t experience it with nude Essence polishes I’ve tried so far.

Overall it’s a great nail polish and beautiful colour.

OOTN

Hello my lovelies!

For some reason I always go out in dresses. I never think there are tops, skirts, shorts or any other graments when it comes to a night out.
So the other day when shopping for yet another dress and not getting anywhere I have decided to go the other way.

Skirt and a top got purchased. I know these drop hem skirts have been out there for quite some time now but my love for them is still strong. This nude piece is absolutely gorgeous! It’s the gold thread that makes it so beautiful. Top is just a simple mesh fabric with little tube sequins. It needs a vest top underneath it as it is very see through. Everything would be nicey and goodie with it if the sequins would not come off like crazy. After a wash my whole carpet was covered in sparkly bits :(

Top: New look here!
Skirt: New look here!
Shoes: Dorothy Perkins
Clutch: Tesco

Have a great week!

Make up Storage

*Added*
I got the names completely wrong here! Muji is the affordable storage website. The expensive stuff is The Clear Cube! Apologies.

Quite a while ago I’ve noticed this craze for Muji acrylic storage drawers. Youtubers and Bloggers were paying crazy money for something (that to me is a bit of plastic) because Kardashians have it? I don’t mean to offend anyone here. Off course people can buy whatever they want and for whatever price they want but Muji prices are ridiculous.

Saying all that I have to admit that the storage looks great and the whole ‘mix and match’ really is a pretty good idea.
I was so excited when Vipxo did a post on affordable acrylic storage ideas. I immediately went on ebay and purchased one of the sets.

It’s made out of two parts. One being the drawers and the other lipsticks/misc. compartments. I keep them together but the option of separating them is there. I have to say it doesn’t hold that much stuff and the drawers aren’t very deep (won’t fit two compacts on top of each other in most cases). But it definitely tidied my dressing table. Lots of everyday use bits and pieces like eyebrow pencil, mascara or foundation have their own little home and are quick and easy to reach for in the mornings.

Here’s where I bought mine – click.

What do you guys think about this kind of storage?

Essence Nail Polishes

Since Essence is not available in the UK I picked few of these lovely nail polishes while I was in Poland.
They cost only £1.30 and the quality is great! Two coats are enough to give opaque finish (Cotton Candy being the exception as it could do with another coat).
I find the formula perfect to work with – not too runny or too thick. The brush is pretty good too – flat and slightly curved at the end which seems to work very well with the shape of my nails.

Staying power is very good too. I only tried one colour so far but it started to chip only slightly after 4 days and that was without the top coat.

From right to left: 113 do you speak love?; 111 english rose; 130 what's my name?; 131 ballerina's charm; 05 cafe ole; 04 iced latte; 03 cotton candy.

I highly recommend you to try Essence polishes if the brand is available in your country. To me this is an amazing quality comparing to the price.

Mountain Day Trip

Last Friday my parents took me to Ustron, lovely place in the mountains 1,5 hours drive from where they live ( I am visiting them in Poland at the moment). Weather was absolutely gorgeous and views were amazing.

Cool thing was that my mum dug out some old pictures and found the same snap shot from 1982 with my brother before I was born and all of us from 1996. Off course we again took the same picture last Friday.

Added: It turned out the proper one done by the photographer is missing from 1996 :(
